The Dark Side

Dark landscape photography project in the Italian Dolomites

The Dark Side is a landscape photography project created in 2022 as an introspective visual journey.

Through dark, atmospheric and almost surreal mountain images, I explore the hidden side of human personality — that less visible dimension that, in different ways, belongs to all of us.

The photographs in this project represent real places reinterpreted through a personal and symbolic vision. Mountains become emotional landscapes suspended between reality and imagination.

Post-processing intentionally enhances light, shadows and contrast to create mysterious, cold and haunting atmospheres. The blue toning reinforces feelings of isolation, silence and tension.

Not every landscape fits this visual language. During my outdoor photography sessions, I instinctively recognize scenes that resonate with the identity of the project.

All photographs currently included in The Dark Side were taken in the Italian Dolomites, although the project may eventually expand to other mountain areas across Italy.
